On location work... Areas of service for missing cats:
"Karin brought her tracking dogs out to the lake and trudged through the woods and marshes, right out into the water, looking for Loki. It was the hottest day of the week and we were all melting. Tony and I had to go stay in the air-conditioned car, but not Karin. We're sitting in the cool car watching those tracking dogs and Karin run all over even checking the other side of the lake! I will never forget how hard they worked. They gave us the answers we needed."
~Susan Zimmerman
"We are so thankful for Karin & her team! She is truly an expert and a blessing to anyone searching for their missing pet."

Tama went missing on November 9th, she slipped out of our backdoor and was immediately attacked by a neighborhood cat and ran. For 4 nights, we walked the entire neighborhood and slept outside hoping our presence would make her comfortable to come home. There were no sightings, no leads. We contacted Karin TarQwyn for help.
Karin immediately jumped in to help as we were at a loss of what to do. You read so many things online on tips and it can become overwhelming. Karin had signs made to immediately increase our community awareness. She also told us where to start looking based on our location, and we also scheduled for her K9 team to come out to assist with the search.
Beyond the on site search efforts, Karin was by our side through the entire 1.5 months that Tama was missing. Anytime we had a potential sighting or had questions, Karin would advise us based on her experience.
Our journey with Tama missing was a long one. We had no sightings for 32 days. Once we did spot her, it took another 7 days to capture her.
For any owner missing a pet, do not give up! There were so many days we could barely keep going or felt like it was all pointless.
Ultimately, we got our Tama back, and using Karin played a huge role in that.
We could not have done this without Karin!
On the roam 10 days...
From Franco’s family:
Thank you, Karin and Angie!
Franco went missing when he darted out our door when we were letting our puppy out at 5am one January morning. He is a very shy cat so we assumed he could not be more than a few houses away from us, so we focused our search close by. We distributed fliers to all the neighbors within our block, and we got a couple of potential sightings within the first 48 hours but none of them panned out. We continued to search every morning and evening and were trying to stay hopeful but we were slowly coming to believe we would not find our cat.
We got in contact with Angie Rutherford on the 6th day Franco was missing and she immediately assembled an action plan and provided the signs and other products we needed. We did the Advance Casework protocols Lost Pet Professionals told us to do. Angie checked in with us several times a day to check on any updates and with suggestions while we made arrangements for Angie and her dogs to come to us.
The call comes in… QUICK!
Within two hours of us posting the signs and following their recommendations, we received a tip that Franco had been spotted about a half a mile from our home. This was well outside of the area where we had been focused. Within a few hours we had located Franco and brought him home!
What would you tell other pet owners with a missing pet based on your experience?
Do not give up! While we were starting to lose hope after Franco being out several days in the middle of January, it just takes the right person seeing a sign or other communication to break the case! We are incredibly grateful for the help of Angie and Karin and would absolutely recommend contacting Lost Pet Professionals – they far exceeded our expectations.
While we were initially looking for K-9 teams that could help us, ultimately it was their additional expertise and recommendations that helped us find Franco without the need to use the search canines. Angie always conveyed a serious interest in the effort and was a consummate professional.
Franco update from Karin:
Franco was found a little over a ½ mile, (crow flies) from his home. It is however likely he traveled at least twice that far while on the roam. Franco was noticed in some bushes by a resident who had seen the new community awareness campaign that had just went up in his in his area.
We are recovery team and we begin our efforts as soon as we take a case. The ultimate goal is to get the family member home. Our Advance Casework techniques are highly successful in recovering missing animals.
Vets update: Franco lost 3 pounds while out on the roam and was found to be in good health.
On the roam 4 Weeks…
Welcome Home Chiro!
“There are allot of black cats out there,” is the sentiment expressed by Chiro's family. Once the dog team had tracked Chiro moving haphazardly through neighborhoods and forests, then we knew Chiro was on the roam. A campaign both vast and consistent was put in place.
Calls about black cats came in from all over and Chiro's family checked each one.
Finally after missing four weeks, a witness described a thin black cat that had been frequenting her area.
The family went to the location and did a stake out. Chiro appeared and his days on the lam came to an end.
Welcome Home Chiro…
Important Reminders for a MISSING Cat
#AlltheWaytoFOUND
Professional Insight - Do NOT limit the search for a missing cat.
Mark went missing on November 19th. Many sightings and leads came in during the search but none proved to be Mark. P.I. Angie Rutherford and her K9 team traveled to Little Rock.
Angie’s K9 team tracked Mark several blocks and then down into a ravine approximately ¾ of a mile from where he escaped. A new campaign was put in place using the ravine as a geographic focal point. Neighborhoods and thoroughfare streets were covered with signage blasting Mark’s plight all over the adjacent area. The campaign covered over two miles.
On day 22, a text came in with a picture of a black cat with an orange collar. It was Mark. His family went to the home, located west of the ravine and Mark came to them. He was no worse for the wear and appears to be in good health and spirits.
Words of Wisdom:
This case is a reminder to not limit the search for a missing cat based on its behavior or living situation. Outdoor cats and indoor cats can travel. Shy cats and bold cats do travel. Please keep in mind that many of the “facts” and “expert opinions” highlighted on the internet are made by individuals NOT involved in actual “boots on the ground” work for missing pets.
Research, theories and assumptions do have a place in the missing pet world, but they should NOT be interpreted as “hard facts.” Information on the internet is best viewed as opinion that may have some value but may also be too limiting or inappropriate for most searches.
Welcome Home Mark!
Many of us can admit that seeing lost pet signs around town give a momentary heart felt acknowledgement for the animal and its owner. However, within minutes, we tend to immediately redirect our thoughts back to the hustle of everyday life. When the horrifying experience becomes a reality is when it happens to you!
Levi makes his escape:
I recently lost my beautiful indoor Maine Coon cat, Levi. He had never been outside or far from my side. Unfortunately, he had slipped out of my back porch when a family member let my dog out. It was hours later and night time before we realized he was not in the house, and as the panic set in, I urgently started looking everywhere I could think of-inside and out.
I searched online and followed suggestions such as putting his litter box outside, emptying our vacuum cleaner contents in the yard, putting a household rug outside, and hanging a sweaty T-shirt in the tree to blow scent into the wind. My dad hand built 10 framed 4 ft signs that included a very large picture of Levi, a cash reward, and my contact number. We mounted signs at every neighborhood entrance within 5 miles of my house. We posted on every lost pet site, craigslist, and visited the pound every day. Trying to work through a PhD program, it was all I could do to function, and I almost brought it all to a halt!
Working with the Lost Pet Professional's K9 TEAM:
After 5 hopeless days, I desperately contacted Lost Pet Professionals. During my phone call, she immediately started guiding me with a detailed plan, posting well designed signs herself, notifying local businesses/vets, and brought a K9 team to my home the next morning from 4 hours away. I knew LPP were experienced professionals by their methodical use of technology and field knowledge.
The K9s triangulated a spot in the woods near my home, and 3 wildlife cams were set up at feeding stations.
Finding Levi:
Hopeless, frustrated, and losing my grip on my professional life, two weeks later we were driving the neighborhood baiting traps when I saw a flash of brown that looked very much like my missing cat. We were able to corral the bolting cat and it was Levi!
Thank You LPP
Through my journey, LPP communicated with me every day by email with guidance and feedback for each day’s unique results. I am thankful for finding this company and will be forever grateful for their guidance. I highly recommend her services. She genuinely cares and goes well beyond to make sure the pet’s return is priority!
